The California Air Resources Board adopted a greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting regulation pursuant to the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB32). This rule requires that specified facilities report their annual GHG emissions in 2009 and every year thereafter. Facilities subject to mandatory reporting must have their GHG emissions verified beginning in 2010, for the 2009 reported emissions. Only ARB accredited verifiers may provide verification services. Nationally, pursuant to EPA’s Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gas regulation (40 CFR Part 98), commencing in 2011 for prior calendar year emissions, reporting of GHG emissions to EPA will also be required.
We at Verdant Environmental have experience preparing both internal company and ARB GHG inventories for a variety of source types. In addition, the principals at Verdant are accredited as CARB GHG lead verifiers and have sector accreditation in the power entity, refinery and cement sectors.
